Ingredients
- 120 g Dry Lentils
- 1 can Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Tomato Paste
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 White Onion
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Chili Flakes
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 handful Fresh basil
- 2 tbsp Crush Toasted Almonds
- 180 g Pasta
Instructions
- First of all, sauté the sliced onion with the oil and the spices in a large pan. When the onion is soft and translucent, add the garlic and the tomato paste and cook for another minute.
- Wash and drain the lentils and add them to the pan. Stir well and cook for a few minutes and then add the tomatoes, the salt and 2 1/2 cups of boiling water. Cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes or until the lentils are soft.
- Cook the pasta with the lentils accordingly to the package instructions and serve with fresh basil and toasted almonds.
